The article also throws light on generation of EVC via different options. Six options are available to taxpayers. These options are Aadhaar OTP, registered e-mail ID and mobile number, net banking, bank account number, demat account number and ATM generated PIN.
The option for verification through registered e-mail ID and mobile number is available to those taxpayers whose total annual income is below Rs. 5 lakh.
If you want to generate EVC through Net Banking, your bank has to be authorised for EVC. The Aadhaar card must be linked to the PAN on the e-filing website if you wish to generate EVC through Aadhaar.
Whichever option you choose for the generation of EVC (keeping in mind that the option is relevant), it is important that you e-verify your ITR. Failing which, your tax filing process remains incomplete.
