Why Form 15G is irrelevant for NRIs and what they can do to avoid TDS


Shailesh Bhagat is a Non Resident Indian (NRI) living in the US for the past 7 years. His only income from India is the interest that he receives on his Non Resident Ordinary (NRO) Account and Non Resident External (NRE) account. While interest from NRE account is tax free, the bank deducts tax at the rate of 30% on the interest from his NRO account.....
